This type neon transformer is also known as a "Core & Coil". Conventional neon transformers have been around since day one lighting neon.

* One dimmer can dim several transformers
however the total Amps of all the transformers
combined cannot exceed the Amp rating of the
dimmer. Manufacturer says load at 80% or less
than the dimmer max amp rating.
* Do not use this dimmer with a high power factor
transformer.
* GTO lengths between transformer/s and
electrodes should be added to tubing footage
when determining transformer loading to insure
adequate dimming range.
* Care should be taken to avoid under-loading
transformer/s as dimmer may not be effective in
dimming tubes with transformers which are rated
at 4,000vts or less. In addition, transformers rated
at 5,000vts/20mA may also not be effective in
dimming. Transformers rated at 5,000vts/30mA
or higher should operate as intended.
